Placer Artists League & Sierra Foothills Potters Guild

Placer Artists League, promoting professional camaraderie, artistic support and exhibit opportunities in partnership with PlacerArts

The Placer Artists League (PAL) is a group of active visual artists who meet regularly for fellowship, artist presentations and demonstrations on a variety of media and art-related topics. The league’s charter is to support and educate local artists, encourage emerging artists and provide opportunities for exhibition and sale of members’ work. League artists range from award-winning professionals to novices, working in a variety of 2D and 3D media. Many experienced members offer classes in their respective areas of expertise.

The oldest arts organization in the Auburn area, PAL now thrives as a program of PlacerArts, providing artist resources to support the council’s many fine arts programs and extending its reach to include a wide variety of fine artists in the county.

Are you a Placer County artist? Join the Placer Artists League to enjoy the camaraderie, artistic support and exhibit opportunities available to members of this supportive league. For information, email office@placerarts.org.

Sierra Foothills Potters Guild

The Sierra Foothills Potters Guild is a subgroup of the Placer Arts League, offering opportunities for members to participate in workshops, sell their art and increase awareness of clay art in the area.

Lincoln CLAYFest
Saturday, May 2, Beermann Plaza

The Sierra Foothills Potters Guild once again presents Lincoln CLAYfest in 2009. This popular event is held in conjunction with Lincoln Arts' Feats of Clay exhibit and tours of Gladding, McBean.

Lincoln ClayFest is a celebration of the Lincoln community and its long history of clay, and provides a venue for ceramic artists from throughout the region to display and sell their wares. Also included will be demonstrations of hand built ceramics and traditional Raku firing by the Sierra Foothills Potters Guild. If you have never watched Raku firing, this is the chance for a truly exciting experience. Watching a rather ordinary clay pot go into the fire and come out totally transformed into something of functional beauty is a memorable experience.

This is truly a day for families to enjoy the ceramic world together. There will be many fun, hands-on activities for children.
