Regrant Program

Purpose

PlacerArts is the catalyst for the arts countywide. The Regrant Program is intended to identify, foster and support meritorious projects, which serve the needs and interests of Placer citizens with respect to arts and culture, while extending the following goals and objectives of PlacerArts:

  • Stimulate public interest in arts and humanities
  • Promote participation and expression in the arts
  • Encourage arts education and arts in education
  • Present performing and visual artists
  • Promote multicultural programs and events
  • Maximize limited resources via cooperation, collaboration or partnership
  • Pursuant to these goals and its mission, the Arts Council of Placer County, established the Regrant Program in 1988.

    Funding

A portion of funding to PlacerArts by the County of Placer will be made available, in the form of Regrants, to individual artists and arts organizations residing and operating in Placer County. The goal of the Regrant Program is to support arts projects that meet a high standard of quality, respond to the needs and interests of the cultural community and provide cross-cultural exchange.

The amount of funding available through the Regrant Program may vary each year and is contingent upon the funds received from the County of Placer and the California Arts Council.

    General Funding Policies

Only one application per individual or organization may be submitted in a year. Matching funds are required and priority will be given to projects that demonstrate a 1 to 1 match. Cash or in-kind (donations of goods or services) matches are acceptable. Requests should be made with the understanding that the Peer Review Panel may recommend an amount less than requested. Applicants are encouraged to realistically assess and document the amount of funds needed to complete the project. Priority will also be given to projects that promote Arts in Education or to meritorious projects that travel to various parts of the country. Individual insurance coverage may be required. Grant proposals should not duplicate activities already available.

The 2008 Regrant Program will be announced in September, 2007. A Letter of Interest may be submitted at any time, and further details will be advised when available.
