I’ve always loved nature and as a young child was fascinated with the way cameras captured moments you could keep forever. I got my first manual film camera at 19 and have been in love with photography ever since. My love of photography brought me closer to nature and my love of has nature has deepened through my photography. It was a given that I would become a nature photographer. I love hiking and photographing locally and all through beautiful California.
Believing that almost everyone resonates with nature, my photos, being momentary glimpses into the natural world, might create a sense of connection, calm and wonder. My hope is that the viewer will be moved by my images and perhaps have a desire to explore, preserve and protect these amazing places and wildlife. Nature is a balm to the soul and for me, an absolute necessity!
Having shared my photos at art shows & galleries, they have garnered numerous first place ribbons, juror’s and other awards. Currently, I am a member at many local galleries and participate in specific shows throughout the region. I have had the opportunity to work with different art consultants on specific local projects. My work can always be found at the beautiful Persimmon Gallery in Auburn. I am thankful to have my images on display in private homes, local businesses, medical clinics and offices, public places, publications, and most recently a new hotel!
Grateful to have had the opportunity to work with some wonderful and creative people over the years, together we have succeeded in bringing their vision for their space to life! It is always an honor.
Most recently I was blessed to work with the owners and designer of the new La Quinta Inn & Suites in Lincoln. They opened for business this January 2025. It was a joy working with them as they constructed the hotel over the last year, choosing the images, styles and sizes of my photos that they wanted for their hotel. My photography is in all 104 rooms, the lobby, conference room, elevator landings with the largest being a 17’ x 9’ graphic of my photo ‘Room With a View’ behind the registration desk. Miner’s Ravine with oak trees, golden light and grasses surrounding a large bird house on the biggest tree is a good representative of the local landscape. It is included in the images below. The hotel represents our region in such a beautiful way!
