Kristi Warren

I paint abstract floral images because nature always inspires me. I love the colors and shapes of flowers and seed pods and they provide a great springboard for my imagination. The leaves in my work are a metaphor for growth so they are a constant in almost all of my paintings.
I find that the hard angles of our cities are always juxtaposed with the softness of plant life and I like to represent that in my work. Hard angles and geometric shapes are often found sharing the space with my flowers and leaves and sometimes overlapping.
I try to grow everyday as a person and artist so my subject matter evolves with me. I love color and composition and that is what always drives my painting style.
