ROSEVILLE THEATRE ARTS ACADEMY

With April celebrating Arts in Education Month, there is no better time to shed light on the Roseville Theatre Arts Academy and the importance of arts for our youth!

At the Roseville Theatre Arts Academy (RTAA) they are building character in the students they teach, both inside and out. They see potential in every student regardless of race, color, gender identity, sexual orientation, religion, political affiliation, age, or disability.

Students grow through music, dance, and theatre. Through teamwork and friendship, they see self-confidence and pride grow in the students. On the Roseville Theatre stage everyone can see the magic and power of the arts at work!

In addition to engaging youth by performing in productions, RTAA is able to connect more students with the excitement of live theater through their Field Trip SeriesThe program brings elementary school students (K-5) to the Roseville Theater for a range of performances designed to introduce children to live theatre and to captivate their imaginations with the excitement of staged performances.

Exposure to, and participation in, performing and visual arts provides young people with authentic learning experiences that engage their minds, hearts, and bodies. Education research confirms that engagement in the arts also nurtures the development of cognitive and social skills. There’s simply no better way to introduce students to the performing arts than by attending an engaging and affordable performance at Roseville Theatre Arts Academy!

Megan Hoyt has been the Executive Director at RTAA for the past seven years. She shared “…one of the things I’m most proud of is the incredible community we’ve built together. So many kids have grown up through our programs, and their families remain connected and supportive—it’s truly a beautiful thing to witness. Now, as my own son is old enough to take the stage, I can’t begin to describe the immense pride and joy I feel watching him be part of something so special.” Another example of how the arts create community.

ACPC and our community extends our thanks to Executive Director Megan Hoyt and her staff, along with the RTAA Board of Directors for providing these fantastic performing arts experiences for our youth and the Placer County community.
