I am the founder of GlasRat Art Glass (2007) working with kilns from a home-based studio in North Lake Tahoe. I specialize in home and garden décor that brings splashes of bright color and surprise to our environments. People remark that my art is whimsical, playful, and vibrant! Once caught scrounging in a tray of glass scraps, I was proclaimed a “rat in the glass” … hence, the name GlasRat!
I am essentially a “mountain girl” who enjoys the trails, waterways, and ski slopes of Lake Tahoe. As a fused glass artist, I love the abundance of color and light in the natural environment and try to capture these qualities in glass art!
I thrive by trying new techniques and ideas because innovation is a high priority. Whatever you see in current photos will continue to be available while also evolving into new designs.
I have been honored to create donor recognition art using fused and etched glass for Sierra Community House (2014) and Kings Beach Public Library (2021).
I am thrilled to be one of the principal organizers of the Kings Beach Art Tour (2020-2023), a self-guided tour of artist studios, and expect to continue the tradition in 2024.
